I think I could work wonders with a syringe, some worm gears, a technic
motor and some gasoline....
I'd use some kind of electronic ignition though.
Another mean weapon could be a spray of the right solvent. I suspect styrene
(not poly) or toluene will dissolve enemy robots very efficiently. Also
pretty flammable. Mean combination.

Be careful,

Are you referring to the "Robot Wars" show the BBC aired about a year ago?
I
hardly think Lego robots are up to challenges like that. They even used
flamethrowers. The legos would melt and/or catch fire.

Funny you should say that - after picking up one of the discounted Search
Subs for the pneumatics, I started trying to thing of interesting
applications for the pistons and air tank. I never did much with the
pistons, but found that I could store butane gas in the blue air tank and,
with a disposable lighter's piezoelectric spark assembly, make a LEGO
flamethrower. I thought I would build a Mindstorms dragon that breathed
fire, but never got around to it, somehow...

Regards,
Issac.
