Yes, by hacking away. Technically, anything is possible. But it just
surprises me that they opted to make a single combo unit. Think how much
better a Technic part the RCX would be without the battery pack. Thinner,
lighter, different size/shape. It could be high, while the weight of the
batteries was kept low.
And they obviously have stuck to this, seeing the scout and the micro-scout.

| Hmmm. Two things: (1) I can usually identify a bad battery in the set because it will not charge (the charging light/LED stays on forever), but this is obviously not always true. (2) It would be _really_ easy to rig up an external power pack. I, (...) (25 years ago, 17-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics)
