I thought about bubble-wrap or maybe plastazote (closed-cell PE foam), but
a) I know just enough about packing technology to know that if it made any difference
to the effects of impact, it would only be by accident;
b) I had a vague recollection that the wind resistance increases as the square of the
x-sectional area (I don't know if that's correct) and I didn't want to make the RCX much
bulkier than it already was;
c) it felt a bit "chicken" to do all the testing and then not lay it all on the line.
However, has anyone seen the guys who do teddy bear drops from kites (e.g.,
http://www.geocities.com/Colosseum/Field/5861/parafauna.html )? If I was doing that
with an RCX, I would definitiely want to investigate padding materials more closely.
