I just talked to Pitsco LEGO DACTA. I was curious
about the IR tower they sell, because it comes with
a Macintosh cable. It turns out that the cable is
available separately, item 4119830, for $15. This
item is not listed in the catalog anywhere.

It's probably worth $15 just so you don't have to mess
around soldering your own cable. If you're interested,

If you have access to Fry's or something similar, just get a cable there. I
didn't keep the wrapper, but it's just a standard 8-pin Mac connector to
D-25 modem connector cable. It's $10 and works fine with the Wintel tower,
at least with NQC.
