Controlled "grounding" for movement over seabottom,surely?

Lots of things to research there, and the Captain wouldn't have to woory about
staying afloat all the time...

[In fact, this is what I assumed when I first saw the 8250 box, and was
wondering if it might be submerged in real water - after all, the use of
pneumatics instead of electricity seemed to point in that direction, too...]
