Light Sensor Lead Length

I picked up a second RIS a while back and was sorting the pieces tonight
when I noticed that the lead to the new light sensor was longer then my
older one. The older one is 4 inches and the new one is 6 inches long. I
looked at both of them closer and on the bottom side inside one of the
circles, the shorter one is stamped with "T7" and the longer is stamped with
a "Z8". It would appear that Lego changed the length, probably between
production runs. Anyone else notice this?
