You'll notice that the way he got it to work was by directly controlling
the IR port on the watch.   That way he could mimic the RCX protocol.

I'm not sure how useful this will be to you, but the "ruputer" link on
that page indicates that it has been used to control the RCX via TV
remote frequencies. Take a look...
