Ok so maybe I'll add $.05 today. I am trying to get work done, but I can't
get this Robo-Turtle out of my head. If I thought I had the time to devote
to a pet, I would definitely be the proud owner of a turtle.. More ideas..
I have never studied the movements of turtles, but I seem to recall that
when they go to make a "swift" direction change, they point their little
head in that direction. Why not incorporate some IR sensors to detect head
position as well as foot movement on the tank treads? I think this might
help the straight forward movement, as well as help him turn with less
effort. I don't know if you can entice turtles with food, but I seem to
recall seeing carrots dangling in front of donkeys somewhere ;-) (hey it
looks good in cartoons) Best of luck to you, and please keep us informed of
any major breakthroughs. Anyone for a robo-turtle web site?
p.s. And you guys with the coffee comments, come work here, It is an awesome
company to work for, and all the free caffeine you can possibly consume. ;-)
