At an earlier point and time some people thought it would be possible to use a
standard remote control with the RCX. I have a nice stack of remotes from B&O,
SONY, Phillips, Creative Labs, Panasonic, Aiwa, Mitsubishi etc. and I have
bombarded the RCX with seemingly no useful results (almost no responses).
I have also asked some of the "pioneers" for follow-ups to their projects but
without result.
Before I try to get a Lego remote sent out here (the so-called Lego "World"
Shop does not cover China!) I would like to know if anyone ever found a working
non-Lego remote control solution?
Thank you for any advice.

| (...) I've written a program for the HP48S/SX calculator that seems to work. I'm not quite ready to make it publicly available yet, but hopefully w/in the next couple weeks. Also, if somebody is willing to test it, I can do a G/GX version. -SMQ (...) (26 years ago, 2-Apr-99, to lugnet.robotics)
