In this forum you'll know all about 'direction splitters' and why we have to
use them (scarce outputs). So without further introduction:
I put pictures of a very simple mechanism on my site, which is yet another
way to make a platform turn&move around with a single motor control.

I'm pretty sure this is similar to the front wheel drive on the R2-D2 droid
model.
