Hi all,
I'm new to the group, and really enjoy reading the messages and learning
from all of you!
Anyway...I was pretty excited by Joel Shafer's challenge, but it looks
like I won't get to compete. The reason is pretty OK though:
My 9 yr old daughter's science fair is just getting under way, and we
decided it would be really cool for her to do a robotics project for it.
She is new to Technics, Mindstorms, and programming - so it will be an
interesting challenge to bring her along and have her create something
interesting, but simple for the fair.
The downside, of course, is that my little coke-can challenge bot
doesn't get to completion. I had a basic idea going - it would pick up a
can, and set it down. As I am new to all of this I came at it with very
few pre-conceived notions. What I ended up with may be a little weird,
but it worked. If anyone is interested in seeing it (I took pictures
just before I dismantled it, teary eyed), I can post the pics on my
page.
Matt

| I'd like to see your bot. I'm having trouble coming up with a good gripper that doesn't get in the way of the IR proximity detector. (...) -- Did you check the web site first?: (URL) (26 years ago, 10-Mar-99, to lugnet.robotics)
