Remember the bit about the new Lego Star wars robot thing -
Where you have a setting so that forward drives the motor and backward
closes the claw? That's one motor.
Set up another like in artoflego.pdf with that flat gear (and the worm gear
I think) for a steering mechanism - that's two motors.

Oversimplified, yes. But definitely doable I think.

Good point - there were only 2 motors.  It would be better if it were • multiple cans
as well.  The scoring system on that Dallas contest web page
(http://www.dprg.org/CanCan.htm) looked pretty good to me.

It is an interesting problem to drive the bot and pick up the can with only • 2
motors...  Tough...

Cheers,
David

An interesting proposal.

I would presume that adding a third motor (like for a gripper to pick up • a Coke
can) would constitute a non-RIS only solution, since the RIS only comes • with two
motors? Although I guess you could capture the can with an indented ot • hollow
robot and push it out of the room.
