When you set the motor power to "off" (as opposed to "float"), what kind of
signal does RCX send to the motor to hold it in place?

| When you set motor power to OFF, the motor controller shorts the two leads for the motor together, inducing counter currents that actually try to stop the motor's motion. When you set the motor to FLOAT, the motor's leads are not connected to (...) (26 years ago, 18-Feb-99, to lugnet.robotics)
