I have one old differential and one of the newer sort, and no special offset hole pieces, but I've managed to build a differtrans. I've used a shaft along one side so I didn't need to use an offset hole piece. Pictures and a short explanation at (...) (26 years ago, 10-Feb-99, to lugnet.robotics)
