I'm interested in the message you posted to the LUG news server about interfacing an

On an aside - I've created an ultrasonic rotating rangefinder w/ plastic tubing to
narrow the signals going out - a modified maplin kit for an ultrasonic tape measure,
the problem I'm having is lack of com ports on the damn computer, the idea is that the
rangefinder reports back - via cable - to the computer independent of the RCX which is
doing controller type stuff.

com 1> mouse
com  2> modem / rcx  - depending

does anyone on this group know how coms 3 / 4 work, do I just connect a card up & use
them or is it more tricky? I seem to remember something about IRQ sharing between 1-3
and 2-4.

TIA
