I remember reading that the 5225 motors that
come with RIS are internally geared and include
a flywheel. I understand the internal gearing,
but what's the flywheel for?

(...) Typically, flywheels provide extra mass that helps the motor maintain a constant RPM under minor variations in load. (26 years ago, 29-Jan-99, to lugnet.robotics)
