Does anyone know if it's possible to find out if the Mindstorms motors are active ?

it sure is! from a visual basic perspective, use: RCX.Poll(3, n) given your spirit is named RCX and "n" is the motor you want to check (0-2). the byte that is returned is packed as follows (from the spirit.ocx sdk): Bit 7: ON/OFF 1/0 Bit 6: (...) (26 years ago, 17-Jan-99, to lugnet.robotics)
