Re: A couple of gear questions

(...) That doesn't make sense. If it's rotating internally such that the "weak point" could be alligned, then it's already slipping, isn't it? (...) The range probably has to do with speed of rotation. Rotate it at a really slow speed, and it should (...) (16 years ago, 16-Apr-09, to lugnet.robotics)

changing speed of already running motor

We are using the NXT in a research paradigm delivering food stimuli to human participants, and have utilised the NXT# thus far. I have a quick query with regard to how it would be possible to adjust the speed of an already moving motor ? e.g. if I (...) (16 years ago, 14-Apr-09, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Help needed on gear spacing, and another question

First (zeroth?), thanks to all the information and helpful hints. I should have realized that the worm gear doesn't fit with the rack, as their pitches won't match up. That's really obvious and I should have seen that. Second, the worm -> gear -> (...) (16 years ago, 6-Apr-09, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: New LEGO Education set - 9580 WeDo Robotics Construction Set

(...) To be fair, I think WeDo is targeted at much younger audience than the RCX and NXT. The chart on page 2 of the Dacta catalog actually specifies it as elementary school only, while the NXT is elemetary school through college. Which means WeDo (...)   Re: New LEGO Education set - 9580 WeDo Robotics Construction Set

(...) It would be nice to see if the sensors can be stacked on top of a motor allowing read and write actions on the same port. Also, I'd love to know if these new parts will work with any free software. I've seen the parts (sensors and hub) for (...) (16 years ago, 5-Apr-09, to lugnet.robotics)

New LEGO Education set - 9580 WeDo Robotics Construction Set

This is a new Power Functions-based LEGO Education product that works similarly to how the old Dacta Control Lab did. At the core is a USB breakout box with two Power Functions connections. The programs are written in yet another LabView-based (...) (16 years ago, 5-Apr-09, to lugnet.admin.database, lugnet.robotics)

  Re: PF train motor

(...) So am I. However, I'm also into R/C aircraft so I have a long history with batteries and motors and could talk your ear off about them. I could also explain why the battery pack costs so much! (...) Yes, I give you permission to go home. You (...) (16 years ago, 3-Apr-09, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics, FTX)

  Re: PF train motor

(...) Eric: Thanks for the awesome explanation! I learned new stuff today...does that mean I can go home now? :-) I'm excited to see how the new motor and battery box pull. I think the new PF trains could add a lot of functionality to existing 9V (...) (16 years ago, 3-Apr-09, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics)
