Re: Finally, I found the answer!!

(...) I am missing the packet length in the command packet. before send a command packet, the length of the packet must be sent first. Size of the packet length is word(2 byte), but value of the packet length is not included itself. (16 years ago, 16-Feb-09, to lugnet.robotics)

  Robot podcast interviews

***Apologies for multiple postings*** Dear Colleagues, I hope you will find this robotics podcast interesting and useful: (URL) podcast interviews are intended as a top-quality information resource for robotics. They target a general technically (...) (16 years ago, 24-Feb-09, to lugnet.robotics)

Powering Power Functions Using a 9V Train Regulator

Calling all EE's, robotics nuts, technic gurus, PF fanatics, and electronics geniuses... So by using the PF to 9V connector wire, I can run a PF motor using the 9V Train regulator. This is all wonderful...until I try to put an IR receiver between (...) (16 years ago, 25-Feb-09, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.trains, lugnet.robotics)

  NXT sound sensor characteristics

We've worked some hours to do some interesting experiments with the NXT sound sensor in order to learn more about the sensor characteristics: Please consult: (URL) and help discussing. Claude Baumann (16 years ago, 27-Feb-09, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: NXT sound sensor characteristics

(...) anything interesting at 3 kHz... perhaps because I didn't go that high (oops). To figure out the frequency response I did it manually: I borrowed a signal generator and speaker from the university, as well as a sound meter, and then simple (...) (16 years ago, 28-Feb-09, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: NXT sound sensor characteristics

Thanks Brian (...) Your excellent graph shows that you tried to maintain the sound pressure constant. We did the inverse in the last graphs, where we tried to draw the curve for a constant NXT sensor value. We also repeated the experiment, and this (...)   Re: NXT sound sensor characteristics

(...) Since I was doing this all manually, it was by far the easiest. I realized that a better way would be to vary the signal generator level at each frequency, but often when trying that I simple "maxed out" the reported level from the sound (...)   Re: NXT sound sensor characteristics

(...) Excellent suggestion!!! We'll open one sensor and try once again. (...) (URL) else interested in repeating the experiment? Philo? Claude P.S. I added a graph to the page, where the sound pressure is maintained constant. (16 years ago, 28-Feb-09, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.boats)

  Re: NXT sound sensor characteristics

(...) I would be interested, but I have no audio equipment (apart from a function generator) Very interesting data BTW! Philo (16 years ago, 28-Feb-09, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.boats)

They look almost identical in functionality except the LabQuest has a stylus and more memory, while the XplorerGLX has I2C sensors (or seomthing like them; it seems they transmit digital (...)   Ogre - a LEGO NXT based "tank"

OK, it was pointed out to me that I hadn't actually announced this on LUGNET, so... Ogre is the logical (or perhaps I should say "obsessive") conclusion to a series of Zamor shooting robots I've played with for a while. The launching system fires (...)   Re: Ogre - a LEGO NXT based "tank"

(...) Now, that's just flat out cool...and fun!!! (except for maybe...the cats.) I'm curious if soccer/foot balls and basketballs can work in place of Zamor spheres. Scott (16 years ago, 2-Mar-09, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Ogre - a LEGO NXT based "tank"

(...) Thank you - and don't worry about the cats, they think LEGO robots roaming around the house are normal. All depends on the environment that you are raised in... (...) They don't. The launcher works be squeezing the sides of the spheres as they (...) (16 years ago, 3-Mar-09, to lugnet.robotics)
