Joe,
Certainly there have been instances of lego robots in the contest.
The department at Trinity College sponsoring the competition sells
videos of the competition each year.
I have several of those from years long past. I bought them from the
lead on the contest website. Usually you have to get them pretty soon
after the contest but in some years they have "left-overs" that are
still for sale ...
In those there are clips of the lego-bots running the maze and
attempting to do their thing.
In the years that I have tapes for these contraptions tend to be of
mixed-components, not necessarily pure Lego ... Not even RIS, just lego
mechanical-parts with home-brew control-systems, some home-brew chassis
with lego-parts mounted ... Those generally did not do as well as the
machines built totally from scratch.
There may be better clips of bots with higher-density Lego in the tapes
of more recent contests ...
Fred

Subject: any video of LEGO fire fighting bots?
I'm giving a demo on Saturday of the Trinity College Robot Fire Fighting
contest. There are likely to be a lot of LEGO bot builders there (Fort
Collins has one of the biggest FIRST LEGO League followings in the
country). I'll be showing some videos (found at YouTube) of other bots
performing the task, but I couldn't find any decent videos of a bot made
of LEGO doing it.
Can anyone point me to a video of a LEGO robot doing the fire fighting
challenge?
Thanks,
- Joe
