I am in favor of creating a new group. Just as we wouldn't want messages about
the Spybot brick or the Scout brick getting lost in a sea of messages about the
RCX we do not want messages specific to the RCX to be lost in a sea of messages
about the NXT. The intent behind a hierarchical newsgroup structure is to
enable focused conversations to go on at the deepest levels of the hierarchy
while more generalized conversations take place at the shallower levels. From
the mailing list perspective and the web interface perspective having a new
sub-group has no negative impact and it does not divide the robotics group into
cliques. If you want to view all lugnet.robotics messages you simply read at
that level. If you are interested in only .NXT messages then you drill down
another level and then you can never see a message about Spybot bricks while
your focus is on the NXT.

| (...) Thanks, John. You've described things well. I'm holding off on creating a new group for a few reasons. One is: when more information comes to light about the NXT, it may become apparent that 'RCX' is a good place for discussion of it. (Heh, At (...) (19 years ago, 9-May-06, to lugnet.robotics)
