Oh, good. I have done some more research hoping to make a really genuine
original discovery :)
As a few on this list has pointed out the lego light sensor is very
receptive to the infrared spectrum. I have found that if I send bursts of
IR-messages (SendMessage) and sample the light-sensor regularly looking for
spikes larger than about 100 RAW units I get a very reliable infra-red
vicinity detector. Now my bots don't have to bump into things to recognize
their existence :).
