Have you tried asking dprg.org or on the orionrobots.co.uk forums?
There are a few robotics groups - and this is a very specialist
question.
I can say there are certainly no Lego sensors to do this. You are
talking about fairly high sensitivity - that which may be hard enough
for a human to discern, let alone a robot. I suspect you will probably
require professional medical grade ultrasonic sensors. In which case -
it might be well place on a medical equipment newsgroup.
I am intrigued - what you are doing sounds very interesting - if you
dont mind saying, what is your application?
