One tip -- don't connect to the Internet without installing a new AV pack,
and do windowsupdate immediately! I bought an old laptop on Ebay for a
project, and as soon as it went online, all sorts of malware began running.

| (...) Thanks for the tip, Dan. Actually, I'm not planning on doing in internetting on this machine. It's only input is a phone modem (no ethernet port or wireless card), floppy drive, and CD ROm (and keyboard!). Since it is working now doing what I (...) (20 years ago, 30-Apr-05, to lugnet.robotics)
