RCX and R/C combined —Steve Lane
I've just been experimenting with my RCX to see if it can sense the output from the Lego RC unit. The experiment was fairly successful, I was just wondering though if putting 9v into a sensor port does it any good. Are their any risks in making such (...)      (...) Here's a diagram of the RCX sensor port circuit: (URL) Feeding a voltage of up to +9V (or the RCX battery voltage) will not harm the port, as this is what it uses in Active mode (light or rotation sensor). You can actually use an external 9V (...) (19 years ago, 8-Apr-05, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) snip (...) I'm only intending to use standard gear motors. Great answear Mark, that's exactly what I wanted to know. Steve (19 years ago, 9-Apr-05, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) Hi Steve, I built this little resistor bridge out of 10K resistors for a similar application: (URL) Note: You can't see it in the photo, but the 1x4 electrical plates on the underside of the 2x4 plate have been cut in half so you can attach a (...)         Re: RCX and R/C combined —Mark Riley
(...) Another thought on this... I just remembered an earlier posting I made about sensing the output of the RC receiver with an RCX. It uses a micromotor and a rotation sensor as a "buffer" for the signal. In this way you can detect both forward & (...) (19 years ago, 11-Apr-05, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: RCX and R/C combined —Steve Lane
(...) That sounds really great. I think I'll try that, I even have all the parts!! I wanted to be able to sense all seven states, and I didn't really want to use a non-purist solution, so this system is perfect. Now if someone could design a (...) (19 years ago, 11-Apr-05, to lugnet.robotics)
