I was wondering if it would be possible to hook a 1 farad capacitor to one of
the input ports to keep memory alive while changing batteries.  You wouldn't
need 9 volts, since the input ports are connected to the system bus at 5v.  It
could be attached to one of the connectors like a sensor.  The only problem I
can foresee is that it would be an active circuit on the port.  I believe that
M. Gasperi's general purpose analog circuit would take care of that.
