And at $395 US for just the brick I'm sure we'll all line up to buy one :-) NOT!
Seriously, we all know there's a need for something bigger (not necesarily better)
We've had discussions ranging from one "superboard" to smaller collections of
smart controllers on a single power bus.
Unfortunately, many of us have this thing about being constrained to "pure LEGO"
solutions, where the Meccano-men (as they call themselves) are not above scrounging
stepper and servo motors out of old printers for their creations.
I'm not sure what my point is, but I sure would like to see something different
from LEGO too, probably using smart bricks that use a single power bus. I really
like the DCC protocol for this kind of thing, plus it's public domain so there
are no patent or IP issues as far as I know.
The one thing missing from my initial reading of DCC is the lack of two way comms
except through the acknowledge bit. Perhaps this could be extended...
Thoughts, comments?
