Try balancing a broom-handle on your finger: easy.
Now try a pencil: impossible. Your own processor and muscles can't react
that fast. Once you see the pencil falling over, you nervous system takes
at least 100mS to start your finger moving.

Actually, I can do this. A friend can even balalnce his glasses - wire rim
like John Lennon - so well that they look stuck to his fingers... And when
he does it on his nose... 8-O

What helps is that we are both left handed == a few 00ms improvement in hand
eye coordination. What we need is more left handed robots ;-)

1: It's an ordinary telephone prepayment card with the light sensor peering through a hole in its center. It's supposed to decrease the amount of reflected surrounding light that would interfere with the sensor. Toni (...) (22 years ago, 5-Mar-03, to lugnet.robotics)
