Mark,

Following your suggestion, I just removed the path information, as regsvr32
is always in a pathed system directory.

C:\Program Files\LEGO Software\LEGO Mindstorms SDK\Bin\reg.bat now reads:

regsvr32.exe vpbcom.dll

instead of:

\windows\system\regsvr32.exe vpbcom.dll

Execute the bat file and all is well!

Figures it would be something stupid simple!  Thanks for the help!

Rob,

Try changing the reg.bat file to say something like:

c:\winnt\system32\regsvr32.exe vpbcom.dll

and then running the batch file.  You should get a
message box saying the dll has been registered
successfully.  Then give the ScriptEd tool another try.
I don't have Win2K so you might need to adjust the
directory path to reflect where the regsvr32.exe utility
lives on your system.

I had some installation issues myself and I believe
it was related to the vpbcom.dll file not being registered
properly.

HTH,

Mark

Hmmm...

On 2K, the directory is "WINNT"

I did a little more poking around and found out the reg.bat file
in the SDK Bin directory is supposed to register the COM
server vpbcom.dll.  The batch file assumes the Windows
install directory is "\windows\..." which could be bad if you
installed Windows in another directory.

Of course, I could be barking up the wrong tree here and
none of this may apply to your problem...  ;-O

In case you haven't fixed your problem yet...  Make sure you haven't
moved or renamed any of the directories created after installing the
SDK.  Apparently, some COM objects get registered at install
time and will fail to load if the directory structure is modified.

I've followed the instructions in this post:
http://news.lugnet.com/robotics/?n=18449

I don't see a "Spybot" option under the Brick selection in • ScriptEd.

I'm running Win2K, but that shouldn't have anything to do with • it...
or
could it?

Thanks,
Rob
