Hi,

sending dummy data every second might be to much. Even if you send zero,
there'll still be a start bit that wrecks havoc with incoming data. I
think the tower powers down after 2+ seconds? Also, you should check the
return code from dir_write. It'll indicate collisions.

I really want to get packet networking up now. Raw IP might be a
possibility.
