I've been alerted that the steps didn't work for one person... the problem they
had was the cam drivers wouldn't load.
I recalled that when I originally tried to force an installation, I installed
the Logitech USB Camera drivers from the VC CD. The pages have been updated to
include those steps (without screen shots).
This weekend I'll load a spare machine with Windows 2000 and triple-check the
entire procedure.
For those that try the proposed solution(s), please let me know how things turn
out so I can update the instructions accordingly if necessary.
