Cool!!!  I had looked at that site quite a while back.  (In fact,  I just
located some files I had downloaded..)  But the video is just great and
there looks like there is a lot more online that we will find of major use.
I wish we could get up there to take a class...

But these materials will definitely help.  Thanks for the push in the right
direction.

Liz,

Check out http://www.hightechkids.org/ which is the parent site for
Minnesota FLL.  There is a link to a quick time video that may be of some
interest.

Next you'll want to follow the link to FLL.  There is a ton of useful
information here.  Tips on forming a team, planning tournaments, etc...
There is a link called "Past Year's Stuff".  Follow it and open "2001
Tournament".  A video of last year's challeng is online.  You may also find
the Gallery 2001 link useful.  It contains pictures of last years robots.

In Training 101 you will find all kinds of useful material.  The Training
Class Material page may be of particular interest to you.  We run training
classes for FLL coaches and mentors.  There is a robot building class,
ROBOLAB programming class, RCX code programming class and a class devoted to
learning skills and techniques for working with groups of children
participating on problem solving teams like FLL.  Only the robot building
stuff is currently online, but the programming and coaches problem solving
stuff is soon to follow.

Does anyone have their RIS code for last year's challenge posted
anywhere?

We are still teaching programming and thought this would really give us
a good example to teach by.  We are also looking for a video of last
year's competition and are willing to pay tape and shipping costs.

We are a first-year team approaching this year's challenge and have
never seen a competition, and hope to get some insight.  We have NO
competition experience.  I hope this question is not unorthodox,
forgive me if it is.

Or if you can point us to any sites that would have this type of
information.

Thanks!
