It works.
Now I have two angle sensors (8456 & 8480) :-)))))))))))))))))))))
BTW, this is how it works:
The led inside is *ON* only when it is under one of the eight holes.
It has a (presumably 10K, since I read 523 in raw mode) current-limiting
resistor.
So the light/fiber gizmo is equivalent to a touch-sensor that is activated
eight time per rotation (the resistance of the forward-biased led is very
low).
Obviously, it works even if the input is set in "switch mode", the led will
glow lightly (the pull-up current is small). Alas, it seems to me that the
sampling is more accurate.
