I have a Compaq Ipaq 3835, and I want to be able to write, compile, and
download programs to the RCX without the use of the IR tower.
I'm not asking for anyone to write any programs for me.
All I would like is help and answers to my questions :-)
1: Is it possible to communicate with the RCX from the Ipaq's IR?
2: Where can I find information on the Ipaq 3835's IR system?
3: How do I go about making programs for the Ipaq?
4: Is it feasible that a "bridge" program could be made for NQC?
(To "fake COM 1" and route the info through the IR port)
5: Could LegOS(soon to be changed) ever be ported to Pocket PC 2002?

| You may want to consider using Java to program the RCX from a PDA - I've used a Zaurus to control an RCX but it should work on a Ipaq as well (not IR yet). And if you attach a PDA (with a WiFI card) to a bot - you can control it via 802.11 -dario (...) (22 years ago, 16-Jul-02, to lugnet.robotics)

| Hi :) (...) There are at least 2 IR-Remote emulators for PocketPC's, so in theory, it's possible (but very hard) to use the IrDA port for IR comms with the RCX. (...) Go to (URL) and search for "RXCTools for WinCE" It is a port done by Rainer (...) (22 years ago, 18-Jul-02, to lugnet.robotics)

| How do people write the programs for Microsoft Pocket PC 2002? I.E. (URL) they use Visual C, Visual B, and other "Visual"s? Or do they write the programs some other way? If I do end up creating an interface program, how would I access the low-level (...) (22 years ago, 18-Jul-02, to lugnet.robotics)
