Hi Robolab specialists,
We've set up a simple multi-RCX communication system based on Robolab 2.5
and the RS232 tower. Now we try to operate the same through the new
USB-tower, which has the advantage that it may always receive information
from the RCX, whereas the old tower shuts down after a while to save battery
power. So, with the serial-ports you have to wake up the tower at a certain
rate. A real stand-by is not possible and if ever, it costs a lot of
batteries. A tower stand-by is exactly what we need for our actual project.
My question: is it possible to do so in Robolab. Unfortunately Robolab,
built on the LABVIEW student's edition, does not allow to incorporate an
external dll. So the clever way Dave Baum uses the USB-tower for nqc under
Windows does not work, or does it?
I must agree that the LVGhost makes me a bit afraid. Can anyone help me to
find a way to use the RS232-II.vi and the SetUpCommPort.vi to send data to
RCXs without caring about replies coming from those RCXs. Or is there
another way to do so?
