   Considering that gear ratio is such a fundamental concept, it's disturbing that several authors of Mindstorms books have got it confused.      If you haven't checked out Jin Sato's "Lego Mindstorms The Masters Technique", then I urge you to do so. Chapter 3 (pp. 19-50) are devoted to gears, gear ratios, and ways to make gear blocks.      (...) Hi Rob, I have the book. As a matter of fact, it was this book that prompted the post. Unfortunately the Master got it wrong: on page 39 and the diagrams on pages 46-50.
