For the hardware you can look here:

If you can simulate it and an IR connection that would be enough
to load whatever firmware and program you like, with the usual tools.
Otherwise you can look into the loader code,
for leJOS it is in rcx_impl/main.c and not very complicated
(a few pointers and memory areas initialized).
I think it is a very nice project with many uses.

But one has to mimic the whole seonsor input and motor output possibilities. Imagine a robot with two motors and a rotation (...) (23 years ago, 24-Feb-02, to lugnet.robotics)
