Hey John,

You should check out the archive of this list.  There are discussions of the
sets, with good useful parts to price ratios.  There is also a few threads
on how to get parts you are looking for from Pitsco (Dacta) and Lego Shop at
Home, and all the contact information.  Go here and select the
Lugnet.robotics group.

I personally like the Giant Model Set 8277 for structural elements. Auctions
and shop at home for gears, and small current models (say... 8226, 8229,
8215, 8216, 8205) for small miscellaneous elements. BTW you can look at
picture database of all these sets at http://www.lugnet.com/

I just received my Mindstorms kit and I am very excited about the possibilities. I have written embedded code before, so I am going to use legOS to do my programming. What I am having difficulty with is finding parts, particularly gears. Is there a (...) (26 years ago, 21-Dec-98, to lugnet.robotics)
