    Need Advice on Getting Started —Conrad Frank
   I'd like some advice on what set would be a good one to start with. As I am not sure how much I'll get into this, I'd like to avoid th $150 to $200 for the RIS 1.5 or 2.0 systems.      Conrad, hands down, don't hesitate to get a "real" RIS set. Really. You will be disappointed with any other, and you won't be with the RIS. You should be able to find it on sale.      You will have a good time with the Droid Developer. It will give you some experience and help you find out if your really interested in robotics, If you become an addict, you will want the RIS and everything else you can get your hands on. Well, the Robotics Discovery Set (RDS) is way better than the StarWars themed sets because the Scout is actually a useful part - and you get two motors and some sensors that you can re-use later.
