All three work with Mindstorms.
* The micromotor is low in power and low in speed - you'd really only
want to use it where space is at a premium. The micromotor is just
2x2 studs and two bricks high!
* The motor that comes with RIS and RDS is the 'new' 9v motor and it
has internal gearing to reduce the RPM and increase the torque. That's
a good thing because without that you'd have to use bulky technics gears
to do the same thing.
* The other technics motor is pretty much obsolete - it doesn't have the
internal gearing of the newer motor so it has very high RPM but not much
torque. It's a little more compact than the modern version.
There are actually quite a few other Lego motors - some still in production
(the train motor, the MicroScout, various others) - others that are no longer
available.
The modern RIS/RDS motor is clearly the best of them - but it's handy to
have a couple of micromotors for the odd time you are really tight for space
and don't need the speed or power.
I often use Micromotors to add little animated gadgets to robots just for
their decoration/fun value.
