Concern for a bump producing enough displacement to move the cylinder might
be addressed by using a medium that doesn't compress like air.  Water (if
you dare) might have a better displacement, but I still believe that you
would need a larger diameter tubing.  The problem with air is that the
larger the tubing or bladder the larger the ability to compress (I think).

Jeremy makes a very good point ! :) You should be able to get away with 3 (in theory).
