Hi all, I'm wondering about the capabilities of some of the "unofficial"
firmware/software/OSes that have been written for MINDSTORMS. I am
currently doing a master's thesis in real time OS and robotic control.
I am thinking about using MINDSTROMS as a demonstration of some simple
robotic models and control structures. Basically I am building a linux
system on a chip with special control modules. Lego looks like a great
demonstration platform I'm just wondering if it has this functionality:
1/Using existing know how could I set up a c program that upon receiving
keyboard input(lets say the direction arrows) would be able to output serial
words to the RCX controller and have it respond to the keyboard input as
it comes.
2/would I be able to write in c a finite state machine and have the
RCX report sensor info back through the serial to the c logic which would in
turn provide instructions to the RCX. I guess I'm looking for bi-directional
serial communications with the RCX in real time.
Please direct me to HOW-TOS and FAQS if you have anything that looks even
remotely like the above.
Thanks
