I believe that LEGO Dacta ROBOLAB 1.0 (Mac and PC) came out at the same time as
LEGO Mindstorms Robotics Invention System software 1.0. Its just that only the
Mindstorms stuff got the cool commercials on TV. Which makes sense.
I find it interesting that K'NEX products are called "Computer Control Lab"...
sounds a lot like LEGO's "Control Lab" software from 1993/4(?). I also think
its interesting that K'NEX software was written by Technologica in Israel, the
same people that reverse engineered LEGO's Control Lab interface box and made
their own software for it back in the day. I'll admit, though, that the
ability to build a BIG robot really quickly is easier with K'NEX, and the fact
that they have radio-communication is cool.
