If Lego ever endorsed, built, released ...

The amount of trouble I have gone to to make parts and gizmos as
accessories or add-ons to Technic/Mindstorms, I'd love it if Lego
stepped in and did it properly!

In fact it would be a big sigh of relief for me - now I can buy the stuff
and get
on using it, instead of having to design and build it all the time!

So please, Lego, simply adopt some of our ideas! I for one won't complain!

As far as other people are concerned, I would think that if your designs or
ideas were so valuable and/or secret, posting them would be a mistake?

Amen.

I'm a bit incredulous this thread even started. Anyone who posts anything
to a public list and then tries to claim it was private or proprietary is
unclear on the concept. (I'm not sure Hollywood is very clear on anything
so I'm blithely ignoring what some script writer was afraid to do as a
prior message intimated).

My company participates in several public forums. I am pleased to report
that we get  many of our best product ideas from our customers, who,
naturally, are pleased that their wishes are acknowledged.

I'm always happy to get customer input, positive - or negative. Listening
to customers is one way a small company (4 people) like ours can compete
well against much larger ones. I can't imagine a customer suing us for
being responsive, and what would be their claim? ("Judge, I suggested that
they do something and they did it! Tell them to stop!"). (There I go,
leading with my chin -- now there will be just such a story on the cover of
the National Enquirer at the supermarket checkstand tonight).
