From what I have read and understand, the IR communication process of the
RCX and the Tower are a bit limited. Now I know I'm demanding, but I don't
have a couple thousand(or hundred thousand) to drop down on a high level
scientific robot, so I'm trying to make due. I would like to significantly
improve the communications system of the RCX and the Tower, but it is my
understanding that you begin running into the trouble of burning up the
equipment(mainly the IR LEDs). So I started thinking about it, and I would
imagine there has to be equipment out there for boosting, transmitting, and
receiving IR signals. So I would think I could get such equipment and find a
way to rig it to work with the RCX and IR Tower.
So, to get to the point of why I'm mailing you all, I wanted to see if
anyone has already attempted this, and if so, what where your results?
Also, I wanted to thank all of you for your excellent responses so far to my
other questions. This is a great community and I hope to contribute as much
as I receive.
