  Re: robotica on TLC

Okay, gotta play the devils advocate and take this a step further. ;) Robot (noun). A robot has to have an onboard computer (processor) that is takes input from sensors and decides what to do with its outputs (actuators). It must be able to sense (...) (24 years ago, 6-Apr-01, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Solar Cell Output in Direct Sunlight

I have a Halogen uplight lighting a room and my solar cell will power a motor, with no load up to a distance of around '6 (3' work height) from the light pole. This will fluctuate according to the reflectance's of the ceiling, walls, etc. Rose (...) (24 years ago, 6-Apr-01, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.dacta)

  New Outdoor Robot Photos

I took some new photos of a couple of my robots, and they came out pretty good so I thought I'd share them. The photos were taken outdoors in indirect sunlight, with a Canon Powershot S20 3.34MP mounted on a Velbon tripod. Post-processing consisted (...)   Re: robotica on TLC

(...) If you go to the website of the show, they say that *everything* in the junkyard is seeded. Everything that's there was put there by the show's producers. Not that it really makes the show less enjoyable. Although for some strange reason a (...) (24 years ago, 6-Apr-01, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: More juice out of the standard motors.

Mark Haye <mhaye(@)tivoli(.)com> wrote in message news:GA9p5z.JwG@lugnet.com... (...) 33% more voltage should also give you 33% more current, so power (i.e. voltage times current) should increase by 77%. But higher currents give higher (...) (24 years ago, 6-Apr-01, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: robotica on TLC

(...) I didn't realize that expressing an opinion was being defensive. Personally I enjoy the conversation much more if the participants are at least a bit passionate about the subject. I realize this is contrary to U.S. culture with it's emphasis (...) (24 years ago, 6-Apr-01, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Advanced Control strategies

Definately agree on LegOS, my final year Computer Science dissertation was on autonmous learning on an RCX with genetic programming, I used LegOS 2.5, great stuff full C++ if you can do it in ansi you can do it here... But I'd say the best place to (...) (24 years ago, 6-Apr-01, to lugnet.robotics)
