Robot building in the news (non-lego)

Short article: (URL) (24 years ago, 6-Apr-01, to lugnet.robotics)

Speaking of motors ( was:Re: More juice out of the standard motors.)

Hope this is not off-topic, but I have a 8735 motor. The problem is that in runs for a little while (on full juice from the battery box), but then stops. It is a new motor, but when I try turn the stem by hand, I couldn't (without pliers). Is the (...) (24 years ago, 6-Apr-01, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: List software?

(...) ^^^^^ What?! That is completely new to me :-) On Linux, use mutt, this mailer does SSL and all sorts of fancy replies. (24 years ago, 6-Apr-01, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: robotica on TLC

(...) What makes you say this? Why should cars in England corrode any differently from cars in other countries? TT. (24 years ago, 6-Apr-01, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: robotica on TLC

(...) I've been trying to start up a local Lego robotics group to do something like that - but so far, response from parents in the area has been disappointing. (...) They certainly do seed the junkyard for *some* of the activities - in the rocketry (...) (24 years ago, 6-Apr-01, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: robotica on TLC

(...) I love this show also, they build 'robots' that have human computers, but they could be a robot easily, most of the time with a good enough software package. In the US version, there were brand new engines that had been installed on crashed (...) (24 years ago, 5-Apr-01, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: I wish Lego made an "Anti-Backlash Gear"

(...) Yes, I've noticed this too - they like to run it through their fingers and make bracelets and whatnot from it. Perhaps it would be a good executive stress toy? :-) Jennifer Clark (24 years ago, 6-Apr-01, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.technic)

  Re: Advanced Control strategies

(...) Lack of floating point support could also be a bit of a problem. You could try legOS. I think you have about 32k available for programs, and there are very few restrictions. You could also do all the hard work on a PC. It's pretty easy to (...) (24 years ago, 6-Apr-01, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: robotica on TLC

(...) Look into getting your son and yourself involved in the First Lego League. I judged some competitions last fall and it was a blast. Very worthwhile. (...) I too am a big fan. Though I would prefer it if they weren't quite so obvious about (...) (24 years ago, 6-Apr-01, to lugnet.robotics)
