The RCX accepts AC voltage, all it needs to convert to DC is 4 diodes, or a
small bridge rectifier.
It takes anything from 9-12VAC. Apparently you can do some damage by
plugging in DC, as in the long term you will only be passing voltage through
half the rectifier and therfore stress it (or so they say).
