I used legOS and the Mindstorms in CPS 196: Programming under Uncertainty
here at Duke. The course web page is at
http://www.cs.duke.edu/~mlittman/courses/cps196/
Prof. Littman is unfortunately no longer in academics, so I'd ask you not to
contact him, but I'm very happy to answer any questions you might have,
either on this list or off list. I'll note that my chapters of the book
Extreme Mindstorms
(http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/1893115844/tieguyorg/104-9770610-9192746)
draw pretty heavily on that experience, and I'd unabashedly recommend it as
a text for any college-level programming or engineering course that you
might be considering.
Good luck-
Luis
