The new Mindstorms RIS 1.5 set I gave my son for Christmas had a bad motor right out of the box. The motor is just jammed up and will barely turn by hand. I emailed Lego and they are sending me a new one (in up to 3 weeks!). We couldn't wait to get (...) (25 years ago, 2-Jan-01, to lugnet.robotics)

Just a follow up to this topic now that I have an RCX of my own (thanks Santa...and my wife) I found that using the Radio Shack light sensors for detecting on coming trains to the crossing works great. Hi everybody, i'm trying to make an interface between a java program and the lego mindstorm via the infrared port, for this, i use the Dario Laverde's java api for the rcx and parce the hex opcode to the robot. I managed to make sound, turn the (...) (25 years ago, 2-Jan-01, to lugnet.robotics)
